THE CONSTITUTION OF THE ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION

 

Name & Address:

An Association of the Alumnae of Father Muller College of Nursing has been formed and it is called “Father Muller college of Nursing Alumnae Association “. The office of the association is located at the premises of Father Muller College of Nursing. Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Kankanady Post Mangalore – 575 002

 

The Vision:

Every association binds its members together as a co-herent group towards a common goal. The Alumnae association of Father Muller College of nursing envisages to keep alive the flame of “Heal and Comfort” in all its members as per the ideals of Father Muller the founder of the Institution. The spirit and the ideals of love and service imbibed from the alma mater can be a motivating force to be permeated in all the spires and activities of the student even after they leave the intuition. The association thus serves as a connecting link fostering friendship and fellowship among all its alumnae and with the alma mater and also providing opportunities for continued self development through scientific, professional, social and cultural programmes organized periodically.

 

Aims and Objectives:

  • To Cultivate and foster friendship and fellowship among the present and past students and teachers of Father Muller College of Nursing
  • To encourage the students to cherish an abiding affection and interest in the alma Mater and to contribute actively to her progress
  • To organize scientific, professional, social and cultural programmes and thus to promote continued professional and self development
  • To encourage students and teachers present and to contribute articles or other terms periodical Hospital bulletin or college magazines
  • To develop funds for the benefit of the association by of donations, contributions, aids, membership fees and subscriptions.

 

Membership:

All nursing students both undergraduate and post graduates graduating from Father Muller College of Nursing are entitled to become members of the Association

  1. Membership Fees: All members are required to pay membership fee as determined by the executive committee time to time.
  2. At present the membership fee a Rs. 200/- initially and Rs. 100/- annually.
  3. If a member fails to pay the membership fee beyond the period of one year, the rights and privileges shall stand suspended until payment of dues is done.
  4. Donor Member: the Executive committee shall be empowered to insite alumnae and Alumni to become Donor member of the Association on payment of Rs. 5000/- 10000/- as per today’s norms. (1995).This amount is subject to revision by the executive committee.
  5. The names of such donor members shall be published in the annual Bulletin of the Association.
  6. The names of such donor member shall be entered in a a roll of honour displayed at the office
  7. Donor members shall receive the regular publication/bulletin of the association at no cost
  8. These members shall also be permanent invitees to all functions of the Association
  9. Ex-Officio Members: Are the Director of FMCI, the Principal and Vice Principal of College of Nursing. The Executive committee may invite the past Directors, Principals/Vice Principals to be honorary members of the Association
  10. The Ex-Officio & honorary member of the Association shall assist and advise executive committee of the Association, and shall attend all functions of the association
  11. All proposed amendments to the constitution shall be communicated to the ex-officio members before actualization
  12. Dismissal from the Associates: Any member, who acts in a ------may be expelled at a meeting of the General Body after being given a show cause notice at least 21 days prior to submit an explanation.
  13. This shall be reviewed by the Executive committee and appropriate action recommended shall be placed before the General Body
  14. The member shall be dismissed if2/3 majority has approved if the action at the General Body meeting

 

The Executive committee

  • The association shall have an executive committee consisting of the following members ( elected/nominated?)

          a) One President

          b) One Vice President

          c) One General Secretary

          d) One Joint Secretary

          e) One Treasurer

  • Six committee members I/C of:

          1) Scientific & Professional Programmes

          2) Cultural Programmes/Sports

          3) Communication

          4) Magazine (Bulletin)

  • Immediate past president of the Association shall be a ex-officio member of the E. C
  • The E.C shall hold office from the date of election till anew E. C is formed
  • The members of the E. C shall be elected in the General Body meeting proposed by the previous E. C

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the E. C. Members:

President:

  • Presides over all meetings of the Alumnae Association
  • To nominate a substitute to officiate in the absence of herself and the Vice President
  • To conduct elective sessions/proposals for the next E. C 

Vice President:

  • to assist the President in the performance of her duties
  •  To substitute for the president in her absence
  • To carry out such duties and responsibilities as are allotted to her by the president

General Secretary

  • Responsible for calling of meetings of the E. C and the General Body in consultation with the president and Vice President
  • To record the minutes of all meeting of the E. C General Body
  • To place before the executive committee, suggestions and proposals received from the members of the executive committee and General Body for its consideration and necessary action
  • To ensure that the decisions of the Executive committee and General Body are duly carried out
  • To place before the General Body, the minutes of the previous General body meeting
  • Shall be responsible for day to day activities of the association 

Joint Secretary

  •  To substitute for the General Secretary in her absence.
  • To assist the General Secretary in the performance of her duties
  • To carry out such duties and responsible as are allotted to her by the President/Vice President. 

Treasurer:

  • To be responsible for the collection of membership fees and all other income of the Association
  • Responsible for maintaining detailed accounts of the financial transactions of the association and to submit the same for scrutiny by the executive committee
  • To have the annual statement of accounts duly prepared and audited and present the same to the General Body. 

Scientific/Professional Programme Chair

  • Assists the Editor in the collection, screening and compilation of the FMCON magazine/Souvenir
  • Conducting the seminars, symposia or other continuing education programme  

Cultural programme chairman

  • conducts social and cultural programmes  

Communication chairman

  • Responsible for updating and maintain the record of members
  • Distribution of notices/information concerning the association\
  • Regular correspondence with the member
  • Magazine/Bulletin chairman will be responsible for screening, Competing, editing and publishing the bulletin/brochure/souvenir etc
  • Liaison with General Secretary and communication chairman for dissemination of relevant information and members.
  • The members of the Executive committee shall assist and co-ordinate with each other in the performance of their duties for the common good of the association. The Chairman of all committee shall have the option of forming sub committees to facilitate the achievement of objective.

 

Finance:

  • The official year of the association shall be the financial year that from 1st April to 31st March
  • The funds of the Association shall be deposited in a bank there shall be jointly operated by the treasures and president/General Secretary.
  • The General Secretary shall not incur expenditure exceeding Rs. 500/- at any one time without the prepvious sanction of the executive committee
  • The membership fees collected during the year will be added to the capital fund and invested in FD as approved by the executivbe committee
  • The E. C shall meet the expenses of conducting activies of the associationfrom the interests
  • The executive shall not liquidate the capital fund and other investment to meet recurring expenditure

 

The activities of the Association

The Association shall be responsible to conduct the following activities :

·         Publication of Alumni Bulletin

·         Maintaining and updating directory of members

·         Organizing alumnae get-together with the following

·         General Body meeting

·         Scientific symposia/Seminar workshop

·         Cultural programme/Games
