MEDICAL P.G. DEGREE/DIPLOMA COURSE
The candidate should be a Graduate in Medicine (MBBS) from any University recognised by the Medical Council of India.

The Candidate should have completed satisfactorily the Rotating compulsory Internship of one year in an Institution recognised by the Medical council of India

The Candidate should have obtained permanent Registration of any State Medical Council.

The Candidate is eligible for admission provided he/she has not failed more than four times in Final year M.B.B.S. subject, viz., Medicine, Surgery and OBGY, (SC/ST and BT candidates should not have failed more than five times).

No candidate shall be admitted for any postgraduate degree/diploma course unless the candidate has obtained and produced the eligibility certificate issued by the University. The candidate has to make an application to the University with the following documents along with the prescribed fee:

1. MBBS pass/degree certificate issued by the University.
2. Marks cards of all the university examinations passed MBBS Course.
3. Attempt Certificate issued by the Principal.
4. Completion of internship certificate.
5. Any State Medical Council Registration Certificate




Bachelor of Physiotherapy:
Candidates who have passed Pre-University examination of Karnataka Pre-University Board with English and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects or equivalent examination and with 45 percent marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe the minimum percentage of marks shall be 40 percent in the qualifying subjects. The candidate seeking admission should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.


B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology

A candidate who has passed the two year Pre-University examination conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in the state of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent there to by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The candidate seeking admission should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.

B.Sc Radiography:
Candidates for admission to the first year of the degree of B.Sc Radiography shall be required to have passed the two year Pre-University examination of Karnataka or any other examination considered equivalent there to by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka obtaining not less than 45% aggregate marks at the qualifying examination. Candidates belonging to SC/ST must have obtained not less than 40% of the aggregate marks. The candidate seeking admission should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.

M.Sc Hospital Administration:-
Graduates, in any discipline from a University recognised by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate, a minimum of 45% is sufficient for SC/ST candidates. General comprehension and ability to express in English.

M.Sc Psycho Social Rehabilitation:-
Students who have passed Bachelor Degree in any one of the following subjects: Social work or Psychology or Sociology or Nursing or Home Sciences or Graduate with Behavioural and Social Sciences as one of the major subjects of study and has secured 50% of aggregate marks in the final examinations excluding marks in languages.


SELECTION & ADMISSION
Fr. Muller’s Medical College is a Religious Minority Institution, hence all admissions are governed as per the religious minority institution status.

  • MBBS COURSE:
    35% of seats are reserved for Christian minority students.
  • 15% seats are available for open merit /NRI under payment category and no restriction of religion for the above seats.
  • 50% seats are allotted for the CET candidates conducted by the Govt. of Karnataka.
  • All PG admissions are as per Government of Karnataka/ M C I norms.

Selection is based on merit of the candidate in the qualifying examination and Entrance test marks. Any recommendation, phone calls or attempts to meet the authorities in connection with admission will be regarded as a disqualification.

Selection and admission will be provisional and is subject to the norms / provisions made applicable by the Government of Karnataka/MCI/RGUHS

The candidates who meet the above requirements are required to appear for entrance test and interview conducted at Fr. Muller’s Medical College, Mangalore or any other place specified by the institution, the exact date of which will be intimated by post.

The candidates shall bear all the expenses in connection with the selection interview. They will have to make their own arrangements for accommodation during the test/ interview.

Intimation letter should be produced at the test centre before taking examinations.

Selection intimation letters are to be surrendered to the college office at the time of paying the fees.

Admission secured on the basis of false information shall stand canceled and the fees forfeited.

All communications with office in connection with the application can be entertained only when the application number is quoted. All communications from the college will be addressed to mailing address given in the application form if a self addressed envelope is enclosed.

Selection notification will intimate the date of commencement of classes. Candidates remaining absent for three consecutive days without prior permission shall forfeit their admission as well as fees.

Admission granted is provisional subject to:

The payment of all fees payable to the Institutions.
Date of birth - proof certificate
Attempt Certificate (for PG Diploma/Degree Course)
Submission of Eligibility Certificate from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore.
Submission of all certificates and testimonials in original as per requirement
Submission of Migration certificate from the University last studied.


Facilities Available

Clinical Facilities: The entire hospital complex of Fr. Muller’s Institutions with all its specialities having a bed strength of 1000 is made available to the students.

Library: Extensive library service together with systematic use of audiovisual aids e-Library are available to help the students in their learning process. The students are allowed to make use of the departmental and the Central Library. They shall follow all the rules of the Library.

Religious Activities: The students are expected to avail themselves of these opportunities realising that it is from Christ the divine Physician that they drawn the healing touch to be imparted in turn to their patients.

Extra Curricular Activities: In view of the main aim of education as the total development of the Person, a number of opportunities are provided for the students to develop their skills and talents on various levels such as music, dance, indoor and outdoor game and sports.

Health Services: On admission every student will undergo a medical examination. An annual check-up will be done for all the students. Medical care will be given to them in case of illness at Fr. Muller’s as per the Student Health Scheme.

Hostel: Separate hostel facilities for both girls and boys are provided in the campus for the students who require these facilities.

Every student who wishes to get admitted to the college Hostel, should make an application in duplicate at the beginning of academic year in the prescribed application form available at the college office.

Students admitted to the College Hostel are expected to follow strictly the rules and regulations and maintain the discipline of the Hostel.

Admission made to the Hostel is for only one academic year. For re-admission, every student has to submit a fresh application.

Hostel mess expenses for the board will be calculated according to ‘dividing system’. All expenses connected with the hostel mess repair and maintenance of kitchen equipments, gas, fuel, etc. will be taken into consideration for calculation of the Hostel Mess expenses.

All the students staying in the hostel shall be required to join the mess. Mess charges should be paid in advance by 5th of every month.

Breakages and Losses: These shall be made good promptly on demand. Failure to meet the demand during the stipulated time shall incur a penalty.

Vacation:
Vacations are planned according to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Rules. Normally no other leave will be granted. Students are not granted leave for social events in the family.

Stipend:
All the Post graduate Residents will be paid stipends as follows:

  • Ist year Rs.3000 per month
  • IInd year Rs.4000 per month
  • IIIrd year Rs.5000 per month


Examination
Attendance: The students should have more than 80% attendance in all the classes, to be eligible to take examination.

Academic Progress and Clinical Evaluation:
All students are expected to maintain a high academic and practical performance throughout the programme. To this effect regular written /practical/clinical tests will be conducted and progress reports will be maintained. Consistent standards of excellence are expected at all times. Students who do not show any progress or who fail repeatedly will not be allowed to appear for examinations / continue the course.

Internal Assessment: There shall be an internal assessment in all subjects, theory and practical/ clinicals. These marks would be submitted to the University prior to the University examinations. Passing in the internal assessment is the pre-requisite for appearing for the University examination.

Examination fee as determined by the University is to be paid by the students.


WITHDRAWAL
Withdrawal after completing the process of admission and before the commencement of the course:

If a student who has been admitted to the course decides to withdraw before the commencement of the course, he/she will forfeit fees paid by him/her as follows:

  • 15 days before : 50%
  • 10 days before : 60%
  • 5 days before : 75%

Withdrawal from the college during the course:

Students are discouraged from discontinuing the course anytime after the commencement of the same. However, if any student decides to withdraw voluntarily from the college at any time before completing the course, he/she shall communicate his/her decision to the Management in writing along with a letter from his/her parents in support of his / her decision. A student who fulfills these formalities and who is permitted to withdraw from the course is required to pay the course fee for the remainder of the course and Rs.25,000.00 in penal fees to the college. The fees already paid by the student will not be refunded to him / her under any circumstances.

The college reserves the right to discharge any student whose progress in studies or conduct is not found satisfactory or for any other cause during the period of training or service.


GRADUATION
Following the successful completion of the programme, the graduates will have convocation function in the Institute.
