Introduction
Fr. Muller's Homoeopathic Medical College an Institute of Integral
Homoeopathic Medical Education, Training and Research was founded
by Fr. Muller's Charitable Institutions (F. M C. I.), a Registered
Society of the Diocese Of Mangalore. It is supported by Fr. Muller's
Centenary Charitable Society. As such it is a religious minority unaided
educational institution having its own aims and objectives. Despite
the popularity homoeopathy enjoys in our country as is evident by
the steady increase in the number of registered homoeopathic practitioners
as well as recognised Homoeopathic Medical Colleges in the country,
we find that a large number of practitioners are not able to practice
the Science of Homoeopathy as per Hahnemann's teachings. Fr. Muller's
Homoeopathic Medical College, established in 1985, has taken up measures
through a scientifically planned and well equipped institution so
that properly trained, professionally competent, committed and dedicated
Homoeopathic Physicians are put in the field. The example of Father
Augustus Muller, a, true homoeopath and other dedicated workers who
followed him in his great tradition of selfless service to suffering
humanity, helps to instil in the leamer like spirit essential to the
CARE of the patient as well as of the science and art of Homoeopathy.
In the year 1980, Fr. Muller's Charitable Institutions celebrated
its centenary and to commemorate this event a decision was made to
start a Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital. After a thorough
study the College was actually started in the year 1985. The college
has completed 20 years of its successful existence in the year 2000.
The Objectives
The college stands for the following objectives:
1)To
promote the science and system of Homoeopathy and put it to the
service of the common man.
2)To train young men and women in homoeopathic medicine and develop
in them such skills as are needed to render effective health care
to suffering humanity.
3)To instil in the students a spirit of dedication and commitment
after the example of the founder, Fr. Augustus Muller.
4)To make Homoeopathy a more effective system of medicine through
researches.
