Homoeopathic Conference - 2013

The National Level Annual Homoeopathic Conference was organized by Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College which was held on 19th October 2013 on the theme “Homoeopathy in Psychiatry”. The Chief Guest was Dr Kumar M Dhawale, Director, Dr M.L. Dhawale Memorial Homoeopathic Institute. Dr K.A. Joseph, Founder Principal, FMHMC was the Guest of Honour. Rev. Fr Patrick Rodrigues, Director, FMCI presided over the function. Dr Shivaprasad, Principal, Chairman of the Homoeopathic Conference welcomed the gathering and introduced the Guests. He expressed that, with regard to the uprising imbalance affecting the dynamic equilibrium of the life, the need to organise a conference on the treatment of mental illness has become vital. The inauguration was done at the college auditorium by traditional lighting of the lamp followed by the dignitaries on the dais rendering their messages. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were felicitated with a memento. Fr Vincent Vinod Saldanha, Administrator, FMHMC gave the felicitation speech. The Organizing secretary Dr Pravas K Pal proposed the vote of thanks. The MCs were Dr Anjali Fernandez and Ms Sheetal Panpalia.
The scientific sessions began after the inauguration at 10.15 A.M. The speakers were Dr Ashok Mohanty, Dr K.M. Dhawale and Dr Girish Navada, Professor, Department of Psychiatry. Dr Kumar M Dhawale was also the moderator of the scientific sessions.
Dr Ashok Mohanthy in his sessions emphasized with examples that observation is the key to understand the behavior of the patients to analyze the mental state and treat them.
Dr K.M. Dhawale spoke on the importance of In-patient management in acute emergency cases and diagnosing the conflict of the patient through anamnesis becomes the base for resolution of the problem.
Dr Girish Navada U.K. defined his experiences in appropriate observation, perception of the disease, application of similimum and the treatment of psychiatric cases that brings recovery in a case of mentally challenged individual.
Over 300 delegates attended the seminar. A short Alumni meet was held in the campus after the scientific sessions.
