The World Cancer Day was observed at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College on 5th February 2016. The Department of Materia Medica and Organon of Medicine and Homoeopathic Philosophy jointly hosted a seminar on the topic, “Encounter Cancer”.
The programme began with a prayer song and welcome address by the convener Dr Blany Lobo. It was followed by the scientific sessions where the chief speaker of the day Dr Hasib Professor and HOD of Radiotherapy, Father Muller Medical College & Hospital spoke on the topic “Multidisciplinary Approach to the Treatment of Cancer”. It was a wonderful and knowledgeable session and many querries from students and staff were cleared.
The second session began with Dr Roshan Pinto, Professor, Department of Organon of Medicine who spoke on “Homoeopathic Approach to Cancers”. He illustrated with case presentations. The session broke up for lunch and reassembled for the noon session which began with Dr Ranjan Britto, Assistant Professor, Department of Organon , who spoke on “Management of GI Malignancies”. The last speaker of the day was Dr Guruprasad M.N who presented a research paper on “Annona Muriatica as a efficacious remedy for cancer.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Dr Sajan K R, Co-convener. The programme was a grand success.
