FATHER MULLER CELEBRATES ANTI-MALARIAL MONTH
Recently, the WHO announced july as anti malarial month. To commemorate that the Student Development Committee had organised a quiz competition, "MIND BOGGLER" , a quiz on vector borne diseases, on the 5th of july at 3p.m. in the Knowledge Centre Hall for the MBBS and Nursing Colleges in an attempt to spread awareness and knowledge. 22 teams ie., 2 people per team participated from all batches of MBBS and the College of Nursing in the quiz. The quiz consisted of a preliminary written test for half an hour and the top five teams qualified for the main quiz. The Quiz master was Dr Saurabh Kumar, assistant professor, Department of Community Medicine, FMMC and the quiz was chaired by Dr Sudhir Prabhu, Assistant Professor , Department of Community Medicine , FMMC. The top five teams were, Team 1 - Datson Perreira and Vasudeva Prabhu, Team 2 - Paul Simon and Dipti Kamath, Team 3 - Dr Rebecca John and Dr Tina Ann, Team 4 - Abhilasha Carolina and Sahana P.A., Team 5 - Atul Francis and Anjana K.Once the main quiz started, it was a brainstorming, mind boggling session with 7 rounds and questions directed to the participants as well as the audience which was thouroughly enjoyed by all. The event was graced by the presence of the administrator Reverand Father Rudolf Ravi D'sa and the dean Dr J.P. Alva, who gave away the prizes. The first prize was bagged by Atul Francis and Anjana K, Second place by Dr Rebecca John and Dr Tina Ann and Third place was occupied by Paul Simon and Dipti Kamath. The programme was hosted by Miss Janine Miranda and photographed by Miss Mia George. All in all it was a well appreciated, enjoyable and light hearted in house programme. |
