EFFECTS OF GLOBALIZATION ON MENTAL HEALTH
The Department of Psychiatry, organized a talk on “Effects of Globalization on Mental Health” by Dr.Rusal D’Souza Consultant Psychiatrist, Melbourne University, Australia, on 14th November, 2011 at 3.30 p.m. in the A.V.Hall, Knowledge Centre, FMMC. This session was chaired by Dr. R.P.Pai, Professor, Community Medicine.
The audience of about 94 comprised of psychiatrists, psychiatric nursing staff, clinicians, postgraduates, interns, etc. The presence of Administrator of FMMCH Rev. Fr Richard Coelho, CMS, Dr. Sanjeev Rai, Dean Dr J.P.Alva was noteworthy.
The talk was captivating and lasted for 45 minutes and touched on statistics of Asia, Consequences on Mental Health and Bioethical Issues and Concerns.
The question hour following the talk lasted thirty minutes and drew to a close at 4.45 p.m. with tea and snacks. Dr. Anupama, Assistant Professor Psychiatry was the MC for programme.
