Until 1991 Anaesthesia services were provided in fr.muller hospital by 2 in house staff and few other visiting consultants. The dept. of Anesthesiology was one of the first few clinical specialities to begin at FMMC in 1992 under the leadership of prof Dr T.A. Koshy along with 2 professors and few junior staff. There were 2 degree and 2 diploma postgraduates at the time. Since then degree and diploma holders have passed out from the Dept. fr mullers was also a recognised hospital for DNB training.
From a modest OT complex having 6 theaters, 12 Bedded Post OP and 4 Bedded ICU, We have evolved into a major OT Dept. encompassing 12 well equipped theaters distributed among 3 OT complex, a 20 Bedded Post OP, 27 beds in medical and 10 in the Surgical ICU.
Along with the development of medical sciences, the Dept has setup its own high standards in patient care and resident education.
