Students of 3rd year GNM course won the second prize in the socio drama competition conducted by RGUHS and Sahyadri Institute of Health Sciences on the occasion of World AIDS Day(World AIDS Observation-2009) on December 1st at Townhall.
The students of Father Muller College and School of Nursing won prize for the Gitanjali competitions- Kala Sangam 2009 organized by Mangalore Musical and Cultural Association, Bendoor, Mangalore. Congratulations to all the prize Winners !!
Students of college of Nursing participated in various inter collegiate and other competitions organised in the district and around and bagged several prizes amd medals.
The following programees were conducted by the students in the community:
· AIDS awareness programme was organised by II nd year P.C.B.Sc students on 05-05-2006 at Shubhodaya Vidyalaya, Moodshedde.Number of participants were 70 adults and children's.
· "No Tobacco day" was celebrated by conducting an awareness programme at the hospital OPD on 31-05-2006.It was organised by IV year B.SC. Nursing students , they anacted a role play andused all possible AV AIDS that is charts,Flash cards etc
· School Health Programme was conducted by second yesr M.Sc.. Nursing Studies at Government Primary School, Moodshedde.Medical checkup was done by doctors from Father Muller Medical College.Paediatric Department and awareness programme on importance of personal hygiene was also done.A first AID box was prepared and donated to schoool by the students of Community Health Nursing Speciality.50 students and 30 parents attended the programme.
· A mass health eduation programme was organised by IInd year B.Sc. Nursing Students on prevention of accident at Government Primary School Moodshedde on 20-01-2007.Students benifitted out of Health Education Programme.They clarified their doubts by asking questions.50 students and 25 parents attended the programme.
