         World Hepatitis Day was  observed by the department of Community medicine on 15/6/2012, Friday in  College Auditorium from 3 p.m to 4 p.m. All the students of III & IV BHMS and some post graduate students attended this programme. 

         Dr Suresh Shenoy, MD, DM (Gastroenterology), Consultant Medical  Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist, KMC hospital, Mangalore  was the resource person.  He explained and interacted with the students regarding various aspects of Hepatitis, its prevention, diagnosis and management.  Final year BHMS students were actively involved in this programme by preparting various charts on Hepatitis and it was displayed in health information notice board and also in the Homoeopathic OPD for the benefit of the students and the patients respectively. 

         HOD of community medicine department Dr Prasanna Kumar welcomed and briefed about the importance of observing various health days.  Dr Anusha  proposed the vote of thanks.  Dr Shivaprasad, vice principal and academic in charge of the institution was present during the programme.
