VELOCITY 2012

Velocity 2012 the annual athletic meet was held on May 12^th. It was held in the Father Muller Stadium.

The day started with a few events like 1500m, shot put, long jump and discuss throw at 8am. At 9:30 am all the students got ready for the march past and the inauguration of the meet. The chief guest for the occasion was Rev.Fr. Richard Coelho. The students saluted the chief guest and the chief guest unraveled the flag. He also gave a speech and also declared the sports meet open.

Then started the races 200m, 400m and 800m. There was some close competition with athletes striving to finish on the podium. There were the field events like high jump and javelin throw. In the mean time the initial matches of the dodge ball was taking place.

There were stalls put up for the refreshments for the athletes. The stalls were put up by the students of the college.

The afternoon session saw the tug of war where the participants put in their all. AHS swept the event with the boys and girls winning in their separate categories. There were also the dodge ball finals, the 2010 girls just falling short of the AHS girls who won the event. While the 2010 guys went one better by winning the event against 2009.

This brought to end an eventful day in the field for the athletes. The day came to an end with the distribution of prizes. The best male athlete was Mr. Marlon of AHS and female athlete was Ms. Veronica of 2011 batch. The overall trophy was won by AHS while the runner up was Batch 2010.
