MASS HEALTH EDUCATION

As a part of the Community Health Nursing postings ,the students of 2nd year B.Sc Nursing, in co-ordination with the N.S.S unit of Father Muller College Of Nursing organized a Mass Health Education on Leprosy on 1st February 2010 at 2.30 pm in Mahalingeshwari English Medium School, Surathkal, with the objective of incorporating the knowledge of Leprosy to the school children and their teachers ; so that it would contribute towards the early detection and eradication of Leprosy in and around their homes.

The programme began at 2.30 pm .A role play pertaining to Leprosy was enacted, followed by the Health Education .Posters ,charts ,flash cards were used to help the children to understand the various aspects of the disease.

At the end of the program the children were asked a few questions regarding leprosy and the winners were rewarded by Ms.Sumathi Prabhu ,the Headmistress of the School .Sweets were distributed to all the children .The Programme came to an end at 3.30pm .
