The Faculty development program was inaugurated on 11th February 2010. It is a three day joint program between Father Muller Medical College and St Johns Medical College, Bangalore.

The program started with a prayer song by Dr Vishwakanth and Dr Nirmal. Dr Prashanth Hegde escorted the dignitaries to the dais.Rev Fr Patrick Rodrigues, Director, FMCI, Rev. Fr. Denis D'Sa, Administrator, FMMC, Dr. J P Alva, Dean, Dr. Sunitha, Prof. of Ophthalmology, St. Johns Medical College, Dr. Smitha Bhat were among the dignitaries. Dr.Smitha Bhat  welcomed the gathering. The program was inaugurated  with lighting of lamp by the dignitaries.

Dr. J P Alva , Dean FMMC spoke about the objectives of the workshop and encouraged all the faculty members to participate in the workshop. Rev. Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, Director FMCI  delivered the presidential address followed by the introduction of the speakers by Rev. Fr. Denis D'Sa. Dr. Sunitha address the gathering on how this workshop works and it was very well taken. The inaugural function ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Prashanth Hegde. The master of the ceremony Dr. Aureen D'Cunha.

The workshop started with a spirited introduction of the delegates, and this was followed by a lecture on domains of learning and specific learning objectives.

The second day began with micro teaching practice sessions. Subsequently, there was a lecture by Dr. John Stephen on how to make an effective power point presentation. This was followed by group activities on PowerPoint teaching.

The third day was focused on better methods of evaluation – setting better theory papers and better practical evaluation by OSCE and OSPE.

The workshop ended with a valedictory where Certificates Of Participation Were Awarded To The Delegates By Father Denis d’Sa, Chief Of Medical Services Dr. Sanjeev Rai And Dean Dr. J.P. Alva.
