NATIONAL  VOLUNTARY  BLOOD  DONATION  DAY – OCT-1^ST

 

                   National voluntary blood donation day is observed on October 1^st .This is an occasion to create awareness of safe blood which is possible only by regular voluntary blood donation.

 

                   To commemorate this day, a blood donation camp was jointly organized by the Father Muller Medical College Hospital Blood Bank and NSS unit of  Canara College, Mangalore  at the Canara College premises on October 1^st. The programme  began at 9.30 am with a prayer song by the students. Mr.Ignatius Noronha , NSS officer, Canara College welcomed the gathering. Prof.B.S.Bhat, principal, Canara College spoke on the significance of the day. Dr.Christol Moras, Blood Bank officer, Father Muller Medical College Hospital Blood Bank emphasized the need for voluntary blood donation and urged upon students to come forward for donating blood.

 A total of 44 donors donated blood .The camp came to an end at 2pm.
