CONTINUING SURGICAL PROGRAMME IN SURGERY 2009

Organized by the department of Surgery Fr Muller’s Hospital, Mangalore

12 and 13^th September 2009

Introduction:

In keeping with the spirit of developing Fr Muller’s Medical College into a centre in excellence and developing the department of Surgery a step further towards quality treatment and discourse, we have been thinking of academic programmes to improve ourselves. Buoyed by the Centenary celebrations of this institution we decided to hold a continuing Surgical education programme at our institution to provide a forum for reacquainting ourselves with current advances in Surgery as well as an opportunity to exchange thoughts on common clinical conundrums faced by us.

Our continuing Surgical education programme was arranged in the Conference Hall of our hospital. Registration and help desks were set up on the premises for smooth movement and organization of our participants and guests. We had more than 40 postgraduate students from various Medical colleges in and around Mangalore attending, as well as consultants of repute from Mangalore, Bangalore, Manipal, etc.
