Report of Vanamahotsav day conducted by NSS unit

NSS Unit of Father Muller Medical College organized the Vanamahotsav program on 18.07.2009 in front of the chapel at Father Muller Medical College Campus.  The program was started by prayer song followed by a brief talk on the importance of Vanamahotsav day by NSS volunteer Ms. Shraddha Shetty.  Rev. Fr. Denis D’sa, Administrator FMMC congratulated the NSS unit FMMC and reminded us our role towards nature.  Rev Fr. Stany Tauro, Administrator, FMMCH planted the Mango sapling amidst the cheering of all students.  Mr. Roshan Iqbal, NSS volunteer gave the vote of thanks.  After the brief program NSS volunteers escorted Rev. Fr. Denis D’sa – Administrator FMMC, Dean – Dr. Jayaprakash Alva, Chief of Medical Services – Dr. Sanjeev Rai, College of Nursing and School of Nursing Principals to the site where each of them planted a sapling.  The NSS volunteers and all the students from Father Muller Medical College and College of Nursing planted 90 saplings of various plants like Mango, Teak, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Badam etc, that was given by the Horiticulture department – Mangalore, Forest Department – Mangalore and Belthangadi.
