Taare Zameen Par-Childrens’ Day celebrations

Mangalore, 13^th and 14^th November: On 13^th November, the Paediatrics Department of Fr Muller Medical College organized a fancy dress competition for the children of the teaching and non teaching staff of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions, the finals of which were held on 14^th November in the Conference Hall. A quiz competition was organized along with other small competitions and games for the children admitted in the Paediatric ward, in association with the ongoing Childrens’ Day Celebration in Fr Muller Medical College. Rev Fr Patrick Rodrigues, Director, FMCI, Rev Fr Denis D’Sa, Aministrator, FMMC and FMCON and Dr. Sanjeev Rai, Dean, FMMC presided over the function.

There were many participants for the fancy dress competition which was held under 3 categories of age groups 2-5, 5-7 & 7-10 years.Two finalists were selected from each category and they competed against each other in the finals. The winners were as folows:

In the 2-5 age group: 1st place-Ms Sania D’Souza

                                2^nd place Mast. Ashwin Noronha

In the 5-7 age group: 1^st place- Ms Gloria

                                 2^nd place- Steffi D’Souza

In the 7-10 age group: 1st place- Aarel D’Souza

Judges for the preliminary round of the fancy dress competition were Sr Aileen Mathias, Nursing Superintendent, FMCI, Ms Jyothi Pinto, PRO, FMCI AND Ms Shanu Bhattacharya, FMCON.

Judges for the finals were Dr. Shreedhara, Associate professor, Dept of Paediatrics, FMMC, Dr Padmaja, HOD Of Dept of Pharmacology, FMMC and Dr Meghna, Dept of Anasthesiology, FMMC.

Apart from the competitions, there were dance performances and display of talents by the children from Ocean Kids and Prashanthi nivas.

 To cheer the children and to liven up the gathering, there was entertainment from the interns of the medical college who’d dressed up like clowns.
