Post Centenary Silver Jubilee Celebrations

In the year 1980 Father Muller Charitable institutions were privileged to celebrate the CENTENARY under the slogan "100 YEARS OF SERVICE TO SUFFERING HUMANITY".The year 2005 is going to be 125 years of service TO HEAL AND COMFORT THE SICK AND SUFFERING HUMANITY.
Post centenary silver jubilee year is indeed a blessing for father muller charitable institutions After the centenary celebrations, Father Muller Charitable institutions have grown in leaps and bounds

whether in establishment of educational institutions modernizing wards and departments or in providing better infrastructural facilities.As one can see for oneself, there has been a total development of the campus.After the centenary, Father Muller college of nursing was established with basic B.Sc., P.C.B.Sc. and M.Sc. Nursing courses; Father Muller Homeopathic Medical college with under-graduation and post-graduation and Father Muller Medical college with post-graduate degree/diploma courses and since 5 years the M.B.B.S Medical college.The steady growth in the area of educational institutions,a modernized multi-speciality hospital with the state of the art equipments and facilities are no doubt the result of the vision and dream of the Centenary celebrations but at the same time the charitable nature of te institutions has been given top priority by setting aside over 700 beds as free beds with free care for the poor and needy patients in the general wards of the Medical College Hospital.Such a free care facility amounts to Rs.3crores annually.
Therefore, Father Muller Charitable institutions can pride itself to be one of the most modern, well equipped,well infrastructurally furnished medical care giving Hospital and running decipline and quality oriented educational institutions in the region and at the same time,upholding its aims and objectives by remaining faithful to its charitable call and mission.

While 100 years of service to suffering humanity was an event for joy and celebration,125years are all the more so because it is another occassion for us to thank god for his benevolence, protection and blessings and so also for our benefactors, well wishers admirers for their support,patronage and good wishes.This is also an occassion to re-dedicateourselves to Heal and Comfort the sick and suffering humanity with renewed zeal and commitment and to take Father Muller's forward and to greater heights in despensing medical care, service and education and by rightly interpreting the signs of times and fulfilling the aspirations and expectations of patients, students and general public towards providing quality medical care and education.

The inauguration of the Post Centenary Silver Jubilee year which took place on 11th March 2004 is a right step in this direction.The entire institution is very happy to celebrate 125 years of service to Heal and Comfort the sick and suffering humanity.Year long activities planned and some already conducted are proofs of the enthusiasm prevailing over the institution.

The Concluding Celebrations-

As the second weekend weekend of march 2005 approached, there was palpable excitement and a sense of sweet anticipation at Fr.Muller Campus Kankanady, Mangalore for the concluding celebrations.Ever since the scene for this year-long post centenary silver jubilee celebrations was set by Cardinal Simon Pimenta on March11, 2004 , there have been a wave of celebratory functions , both academic and cultural, leadind to the crescendo of the benign tsunami of celebrtions spread over 2 day's.

Interest in the celebrations had been aroused in the city through curtain raiser coverage by the media about the four-fold functions that were sceduled for March 12th and 13th.The focus on the first day was Graduation Ceremony of the students of Fr.Muller Institute of Health Sciences at noon followed by Alumni get together and garduation dinner in the evening.
As an appetiser for the dinner it was preceded by a cultural programme presented by the students.The following day, a sunday , started with the inauguration and blessing of the St.Joseph Chapel at 11.00 a.m,

followed by solemn Eucharistic celebration.That evening saw the post centenarysilver jubilee finale which included the release of the jubilee souvenir and concluded with a kannada ballet on the life and mission of Fr.Muller titled "Sankalpa Siddhi" (A Dream Fulfilled)
Mr.Oscar Fernades, Union Minister for stastics and programme implementation, with his charming wife blossom took the centre of the dias , as the chief guest, for the evening function , the finale of the year long celebrations .Cardinal Vithayathil was the main felicitator at this function, which was presided by Bishop Aloysius Paul D'Souza.
There was a formidable presence of Church dignitaries headed by His Eminence Varkey Cardinal Vithayathil,major Archbishop of Ernakulam -Angamaly.Also present on the dias were Mr.Abhaychandra jain, Chief Whip,Govt. of Karnataka, Mr.Blasius D'Souza, Member Legislative council, Karnataka, Dr.Srinivas gowda, Registrar,Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore and B.S Nataraj ,Director, Indian System of Medicine and Homoeopathy and Mr.Heinz Kopp , Consul General (Madras) for the Fed.Rep. of Germany.
